So, what are the most popular items stored by Berliners? The objects range from possessions when moving house, sports equipment and books to specialist collections, wine and art. In fact, self-storage is usually used by private customers. But business customers can also use self-storage compartments – including as file stores or mini-warehouses for online retail. However, people often overestimate the amount of space they require. In principle, the 10% rule applies: the furnishings of a 10m² room can be stored in a 1m² compartment, provided it is high enough. If you stack well, even up to 15m² of living space can fit in a 1m² compartment. Tip: Consult employees of the company concerning the required size.
